Archive:List of channels on Sky Brasil (September 2006)
In September 2006, Sky and DIRECTV finally entered their merging stage, negotiated by Luiz Eduardo Baptista, alias "Bap". Several channels that were on the competing DIRECTV platform joined Sky on September 14. There were misunderstandings with Grupo Bandeirantes for the arrival of BandNews and BandSports, which meant that the total number of new channels was eight and not ten as initially planned.
During this phase, Sky used the temporary SKY+DIRECTV brand until March 2007 as a commercial tactic, meanwhile former DIRECTV subscribers got a modified DIRECTV line-up until the old satellite was switched off the following year. In March 2007, the transitional brand was ditched in favor of the long-used slogan TV é isso (That's TV).
